Molten Metal Nails

Ever since seeing metallic nails brush the Chanel Haute Couture runway in 2010, I have always taken notice. I'm not going to lie, for years I denied liking this look - always thinking it was a little harsh or futuristic for me. 

However, with Fall on the way and my wardrobe amping up with black apparel and studded details, I decided to give this look yet another try and suprisingly, I really liked the result!

Striking and undeniably unique, these nails are the perfect accessory to an all-black ensemble and bold mixed metal jewelry. If your looking to add some spice to your outfit and don't want to spend a fortune, consider adding molten metail nails to your look. They are chic and a total showstopper.

Beach Ready

Do you ever notice how fab your hair tends to look after a day spent by the ocean? It has a laid back “didn’t try to hard” look that stylists spend hours to recreate. Those tousled locks are the perfect complement to a boho chic ensemble and oversized sunnies - one of my fav summer go-to looks. So even if you can’t make it to the beach or you are stuck in your office on a warm summer day, here are 3 of my favourite products to help you achieve optimal “beach hair” in no time.

1.    Macadamia Nut Oil

My stylist got me hooked on this stuff a couple years ago and I swear I can never go back now. For a girl who has super thick hair, this product helps to smooth out the frizz and bring life back to my limp locks. This treatment is the first thing that I apply after I get out of the shower and I notice a huge difference in the health of my hair when I infuse it with this oil. This is my first step to achieving the “beach ready” look.

2.    Bumble & Bumble Salt Spray

This salt spray is the perfect product to help create those effortless tousled waves. After applying the macadamia oil to my wet hair and allowing it to start the air drying process, I then add this salt spray to help create a wavy look.

3.    The “Wand” Hair Tool

I’m not going to lie; I am completely obsessed with the “wand” hair tool. It is the fastest and easiest way for me to get my hair styled without getting a “done-up” look (you know what I mean ;)). When creating beachy hair, I use the wand to go through my hair and re-curl those pieces that may not have air dried properly.

Voila...Beach ready hair!

Monday Mani

Yep, Monday is upon us! Quite possibly the most hated day of the week. Were all back to the busy grind, still recovering from a hectic weekend and looking ahead at the craziness of the week can be a daunting task in itself. 

One thing I have found to spice up my otherwise monotonous Monday routine to indulge in a Monday Mani. Yes, you heard me right – treating yourself to a 10 minute manicure over lunch, bringing your polish to work or spending some time after a busy day at the office to indulge in a spa mani is what I’m talking about. I know it doesn’t seem high on the agenda for the day, but lets be honest your nails from the weekend are most definitely chipped (if your anything like me) and what better way to start of your week then with beautifully polished nails.

Below is a picture of my Monday Mani. This week I’m trying out the “accent nail” trend which entails having one of your nails painted a different colour or texture than the rest. I’m not one for nail art, but I’m loving the both the accent and ombre nail looks that are super hot right now.

Braided.

Look at the red carpet, runways, heck even on the streets and you will see that braids are all the rage. From long fishtails, to looser bohemian-inspired styles, to braided buns, these hairstyles are currently where it’s at.

As a braid lover myself {yes, on a lazy day a braid always makes me feel somewhat put together ;)} I choose to opt for a classic side braid or a delicate weave to clasp my loose curls. Whatever your preference, this hairstyle has the ability to raise your look from mediocre to major in a matter of seconds.
