And Pantone's Colour Of The Year Is......

It’s the sacred stone of the goddess Venus and also symbolizes growth, renewal and prosperity. So it was only a matter of time for Pantone to name Emerald Green as the colour of the year for 2013.

I for one, am excited to see this striking and sophisticated hue take off, especially in the fashion world. Classy and elegant, this bright green tone provides richness to clothing and will radiate inside of any home. Beautiful on its own or paired with a variety of colours – grey, gold, violet or white, this hue will be seen everywhere in the upcoming year.

Gucci's Going Green...Say What?

Yes, you heard it right – the iconic leather logo is going green! Gucci known for their luxe and supple leather bags and shoes has taken a step in the eco-friendly arena by launching their new “sustainable sole” line of shoes. Designed with biodegradable rubber and interlocking G’s made of recycled polyester; these jelly flats and wedges are quite the departure from the typical items created by the brand.

So, do you think that a label that is heavily grounded by their leather goods can succeed in the “green market”? Or, do you think they will fall short? Would you purchase these shoes for a wet, rainy day or opt for something else? The verdicts still out.
