The Oscars are the Super Bowl of fashion. Yes, it's all about the little gold guy, but nothing shines brighter than the stars on the red carpet. There were many new faces this year, but one things for sure - we were not short on standout looks or fashion fails at the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
Who sparkled? Who missed the mark?
My Favorites: Michelle Williams - classy and adorable as usual in Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs. Jessica Chastain - regal in a bespoke, hand-embroidered Alexander McQueen dress. Rooney Mara - stunned the crowd in a white architectural Givency gown. Cameron Diaz - showed that she is still one of hollywood's top "it girls" in Gucci. And Oscars hottest couple - Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt showcased their major red carpet presence in a classy Tom Ford tux and a high slit Atelier Versace gown.
Check out our best dressed list, our "kinda love, kinda hate" looks and those that failed on the red carpet last evening.

Love it? Hate it? What do you think?
These are the looks that I am on the fence about:
Kristen Wiig
J. Mendel
Maya Rudolph
Johanna Johnson Gown
Penelope Cruz Giorgio Armani |
Rose Byrne
Vivienne Westwood
Ellie Kemper
Armani Prive
Shailene Woodley
Viola Davis
Vera Wang
On the other end of the spectrum, these are the looks that belong to the worst-dressed category. Yes, it's tough to include some of these ladies because we love them, but at the end of the day their fashion faux pas shone bright last night.
First up, "The Artists" Berenice Bejo - wore a not-so flattering mint lacy Elie Saab gown. Melissa McCarthy - usually rocking the red carpet, looked washed out in her custom Marina Rinaldi dress. Sandra Bullock - proved that not every Marchesa is a slam dunk. And Melissa Leo - last years best supporting actress, wore a far too complicated Reem Acra gown.
Below are {in my opinion} the red carpet fails from the 84th Annual Academy Awards:
Melissa McCarthy
Custom Marina Rinaldi
Giuliana Rancic
